The United Development Party (PPP) and the Golkar Party agreed to give a priority to the interest of the nation in responding to the various alleged frauds with regard to the legislative elections on Thursday.
"The Golkar Party and PPP agreed to give a priority to the state. Though there are problems, yet we have to restrain for the interest of the nation," PPP General Chairman Surya Darma Ali said after a meeting with Golkar Chairman Jusuf Kalla here on Sunday.
Suryadharma Ali met Kalla at his Diponegoro residence. During the meeting, Surayadharma Ali was accompanied among others by chairman of PPP faction in the House, Lukman Hakim.
When asked whether the Golkar Party and PPP would no longer question the alleged frauds, Ali said it was not that way.
"We do not use that language. We are still studying the problem and its legal aspects," he said.
He said that his meeting with Kalla discussed most matters relating to their common experience.
Ali said that Golkar and PPP shared some similarities just like a publicly listed company. "Like a publicly listed company, an important decision should be made through a share-holders` meeting," Ali added.
He said that PPP and Golkar party had to take a decision through a leadership meeting. They were different from other parties who were owned by `individuals`.
Therefore, he said, the people were expected to be patient in waiting for their decisions.
